As part of Accounting and Compliance standards, you’re responsible for the maintenance of Purchase Order (PO) lists by resolving 3-way matching discrepancies and ensuring the correctness of data entries as a real-time reflection of business activities. Effective controls of this part are crucial to the subsequent processes in the chain: correct 3-way matching, timely payment, month-end accruals and reporting activities. Additionally, you will be assigned and expected to perform other tasks within the Purchase to Pay cycle as needed.

Accounting Intern (f/m/d) based in Amsterdam, NL

WHAT IS WAITING FOR YOU?

• Frequently update, process the Purchase Order report and identify any discrepancies and/or abnormalities arisen.
• Proactively initiate and follow-up queries with relevant business partners - internal clients, suppliers, Accounts Payable, wider Finance team and Procurement - to verify and resolve the issues in question.
• Investigate root causes and advise appropriate course of actions to fix the discrepancy and abnormality. Act as key node that oversees and facilitates this process.
• Actively check Purchase Order status and correctly close POs while connecting inputs from stakeholders.
• Stay-up-to date to system and policy changes which are integral to the successful performance of this role, namely: LeanIX and SAP’s Purchase-to-Pay, (P2P) policy, Workday updates plus any new systems to come.
• Collaborate with the Accounting, Finance Ops and Procurement team to identify and implement process improvements.
• Management and Reconciliation of AP Clearing accounts.
• Provide support with all other Purchase to Pay tasks as required, including covering for periods of high demand and absences due to vacations.

What ARE WE looking for?

• High proficiency in Excel and Power Query.
• Experienced in the 3-way matching process both goods and services.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable process and Purchase-to-Pay module.
• Knowledge of Workday
